AN INTRODUCTION
Hi, I’m Abi Hearn, a person-centred counsellor working with children, young people, parents and adults in North Cornwall.
I am a qualified person-centred therapist with over 12 years of experience providing compassionate counselling in secondary schools and private practice. Since earning my qualification in 2012, I have been dedicated to supporting individuals on their journey toward emotional well-being in a safe, non-judgmental space.
I am proud to be a sessional therapist for CLEAR and run my own private practice in St Columb Major, nestled along Cornwall’s stunning North Coast. In addition to in-person sessions, I also offer online therapy and clinical supervision providing flexible and accessible support.
I am inspired by the courage and resilience of the people I support and as a working mum, I know how challenging it can be to prioritize our own wellbeing. Finding the time to look after ourselves, both mentally and emotionally, can be tough—but it’s so important.
“The gentle and sensitive companionship of an empathic stance… provides illumination and healing. In such situations deep understanding is, I believe, the most precious gift one can give to another.”
CARL ROGERS
working with me
Sometimes life can feel overwhelming and we do not always know who we can turn to for support.
Taking this first step to find support and make changes can feel daunting! That is why my aim is to create a safe, trusting and genuine relationship where we can explore your concerns in a fully honest and open way.
Although person-centred therapy is my core value, I also use a variety of approaches within counselling sessions, talking and creative approaches are both used with the sessions depending on your needs and preferences.
I truly believe that being heard and seen can be exceptionally healing and I aim to offer you a space that is warm and safe so that you can reflect, make sense and begin to make those life changes you need.
